Performance: Back on Stage
we joined forced with Rankin, FUJIFILM House of Photography, Official London Theatre and The Mayor of London, to project manage Performance - a celebration of London’s theatreland. With an exhibition just off Covent Garden, a publication, live photoshoots and taking over the Piccadilly lights, it was a big challenge but we’re proud to showcase our support for London’s West End.
PERFORMANCE BY RANKIN is a celebration of the enormous talent and resilience of London's theatres, the cultural heart of the city, as it emerges from a devastating pandemic shutdown. Created in partnership with Official London Theatre and FUJIFILM House of Photography, with funding from the Mayor of London, as part of their Let’s Do London campaign this ambitious project captures the human face of London’s world leading theatre industry.
From star actors, dancers, writers, directors and producers to stage managers, dressers, designers, technicians, pit musicians, puppeteers, front of house staff, stage door keepers and countless more, Rankin captures a once-in-a-lifetime portrait of a West End reborn, featuring 150 subjects from nearly 60 of London's top productions and venues.
The exhibition runs until March 2022 at the House of Photography, 8-9 Long Acre, Covent Garden. All of the images have been shot on the FUJIFILM GFX100 medium format camera and printed on Fujifilm photographic paper. All donations to the exhibition will support the Theatre Artists Fund offering emergency grants to theatre workers and the Mayor's Youth Homeless Charities.

Always up for a challenge for Performance we were on site at Fujifilm during an intensive four day photoshoot. As images were taken we printed, curated and live hung artworks as the shoot progressed. We also live designed and produced copy for a limited edition publication, which went to print less than 24 hours after the final photograph was taken - pushing the boundaries of technology and time management.
