From Portraiture to Fashion

In the first its kind, Rankin: From Portraiture to Fashion allowed the iconic photographer to experiment with one of his most complex gallery productions to date.

Showcasing images of Rankin’s best known subjects to his more conceptual work. Rankin: From Portraiture to Fashion (29 Arts in Progress Gallery, Milan) was an archival tour through Rankin’s best known imagery and introduced this industry-leading photographer to a new generation of photography collectors.

Taking place across four months this show rotated work, constantly evolving in time with Milan’s cultural calendar - celebrating, amongst others, Vogue Photo Festival (November), Fashion Film Festival (November) and Women’s Fashion Week (February). Allowing the photographer to explore not only his own work but the cultural appetites and changing moods of a leading European city.

Public Offerings Ltd.

Creating this four month groundbreaking commercial exhibition, Public Offerings Ltd. handled project conceptualising, curation, print management, gallery liaison, wrote all press releases and handled artist answers for press interview questions.

Events:

From Portraiture to Fashion also incorporated live events, including a one of a kind live photoshoot project managed and overseen by Public Offerings Ltd. ONE SHOT - RANKIN, was the first live photoshoot using the only original Polaroid Land Camera operating outside of the USA. An offshoot of Rankin’s ten year project RANKIN LIVE, this is Rankin’s first official public access project with this unique camera.

Photographing up to 80 people over this two day event, taking place in Milan at 29 ARTS IN PROGRESS gallery on November 15 and 16, each paying participant receives their 20x24 inch (50x60cm) portrait along with a signed certificate of authenticity for the experience.
